Emily has been coaching our daughter, Katie, for her grade 6 singing exam. Katie really enjoys her time with Emily, and has learned so much in a very short time, covering not only timing and tuning, but also breathing techniques and stage presence, all of which has resulted in a more confident and competent performance. Julian's approach is one of encouragement combined with imaginative imagery and good humour. By a mixture of explanation and demonstration he made me understand how to improve and I felt I made progress quickly. Although I have some singing experience I came to him with a specific agenda of singing operatic arias and he provided good advice on which items were suitable for me at present and which should wait. Considering what he has to offer (he is also a good pianist), his rates are very reasonable.
